Mandarin Oriental Residences
At the southern tip of Brickell Key, two towers by Kohn Pedersen Fox bring Mandarin Oriental living to the edge of Biscayne Bay.
One Island Drive occupies the southern tip of Brickell Key, uniting private residences and Mandarin Oriental hospitality in an island setting close to downtown Miami. Swire Properties, which has shaped the island's community for more than four decades, conceived it as a pair of towers by Kohn Pedersen Fox, each with a distinct architectural voice yet designed to be read together.
The taller tower, at more than 800 feet, holds The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami: 220 homes of two to four bedrooms, with floor plans of up to 4,700 square feet and two duplex penthouses of more than 6,000 square feet each. Exposed columns and slabs form a textured shell with a curving silhouette, topped by an undulating, skeletal crown, while the interiors are the work of Parisian designer Tristan Auer.
Linking the towers, a resort-style podium of more than 100,000 square feet brings together tiered infinity pools, cabanas, private dining rooms with chef's kitchens, restaurants and a signature spa, all set within lush landscaping by the Thai firm Shma and open to panoramic views of Biscayne Bay.
